Last weekend, the team from Park Street Design and Egoitaliano Surrey were at the Farnborough Homebuilding & Renovating Show. It was our first foray as Park Street Design/Egoitaliano Surrey into the world of furniture shows and the first big show of the year. Find out how we got on and how we were able to help the visitors find the right furniture for their space.
Since our successful launch in December 2022, opening our shining new showroom on Park Street in Camberley, we have been talking to lots of people about their projects and the stunning Italian furniture of Egoitaliano. To help get ourselves in front of the right people at the right time during their projects, we'll be doing a handful of shows this year where we'll be displaying a selection of our modern living and dining furniture as well as our home decor.
Introducing the new brand and showroom has been a joy and we had many a conversation with lovely visitors from across the country about how Egoitaliano’s modern furniture could suit their projects. Many people we spoke to were in the early stages of projects, meaning they were looking for furniture to design their room, or even their house, around. Big, bold statement pieces that can be the backbone of the entire house design.
The first show of the year is always a good gauge of how shoppers are feeling and gives a good indication of the year ahead. The Farnborough edition of the Homebuilding and Renovation show was positively buzzing! We spoke to many people who fell in love with Egoitaliano's playful yet modern designer furniture and started to think about how they could incorporate Park Street Design into their design plans.
Despite what many may think, our furniture isn’t just for contemporary homes and new builds (though of course, they look stunning in modern homes!). We spoke to several visitors to the exhibition who were renovating period properties and were looking for that modern WOW factor for their living spaces. Something to juxtapose against the period features. A hot pink Bebop sofa in a sensitively renovated Georgian property may be just what it needs to bring it into the 21st century!
But of course, we also chatted with many individuals building their own homes, in modern styles, and are just getting to the stage where they need to start thinking about the furniture and home decor. The show gave them the opportunity to try, touch, and feel our designs and see how a large, generously proportioned, Gloria sofa in the middle of a large open-plan space is exactly what they were looking for to bring the space together. What's so great about these shows is that it allows home builders, designers and renovators, at various stages of their projects to see what's on offer and they can start to form an idea of what the final house is going to look and feel like. For months their dream home has been bricks and mortar but for the first time, it's starting to feel like a home.
What always seems to surprise people, both in the showroom and at the shows, is just how many options there are for each design. In fact, it can very easily become quite overwhelming if you’re looking at hundreds and hundreds of different material samples and model configurations. We've certainly spoken to our fair share of individuals who have been exhausted elsewhere after a great book of samples and options was dropped in front of them with no advice or guidance... Luckily our expert team are always there to help and guide you through the process. It doesn't matter if you're an experienced designer or a first-time renovator, we make sure we know what we’re talking about so we can give you the best advice, guide you in the right direction and help you with making the right decisions.
Our next show will be later this year (details to be announced soon!) where we’ll have more amazing designer sofas, armchairs and home décor to show you. We can wait. See you soon!
